This post Pet Friendly Hotel Chains in the US detail the chains which welcome pets. Their special pet services and comforts will make your stay very enjoyable. With more hotels adding pet services, traveling with pets in the US is getting a lot easier and more hassle free.
Traveling with your pet and finding a hotel, resort, Inn or any kind of lodgings can be difficult. You need to be sure your pet is welcome wherever you stay. Hotel policies often vary widely, but there are some hotel chains which tend to be more consistently pet friendly. The pet friendly hotel chains in this article will always welcome your pet.
As well as the hotel chain welcoming your pet, you also want to make sure the hotel is suitable for your needs. The hotel should have nice big suites and have all the other amenities to enjoy your holiday or short break.
Below I have a list of 12 pet friendly hotel chains from 2 different sources with links to each of the original articles. At the end of this post, there is a short YouTube video entitled “Pet Friendly Hotels Chains In California”.
Many of these hotel chains are international hotel brands so if you are traveling abroad with your pet, check out the websites for these hotels and see if these hotel chains are also pet friendly in Europe, Asia and Africa.
Pet Friendly Hotel Chains USA
If you’re traveling with your four legged friend, you don’t have to travel to New York to get pet pampering. Many hotel chains now offer pet friendly services all year round. Here are my five dog friendly hotel options, which all offer pet friendly basics alongside creative options for pampering perks.
Kimpton Hotel Chain – Travel With Pets Program
Most of the pet friendly hotels we reviewed has some exception when it comes to weight or size as well as an additional deposit or cleaning fee. Not at Kimpton where the philosophy is, “We welcome all pets, regardless of size, weight, or breed for zero fees or deposits at every Kimpton Hotel.”
Three cheers for Kimpton where pets can also expect pet beds, food and water bowls, lobby snacks, a personal greeting from management and a list of dog friendly attractions and businesses. Really tremendous service and one of the top pet friendly hotel chains.
Affinia Hotels – Happy Tails
Affinia Hotels has locations throughout New York and Washington D.C. They offer the year-round VIPaws pet friendly travel program. Happy Tails stocks your room with the necessities such as a plush dog bed and bowls for food and water. Guests can work with the concierge to book necessary services like dog walking and grooming, alongside dog psychics and pet taxis.
Loews Hotels & Resorts – Loves Pets
Loews implemented a Loews Loves Pets program. They provide pet beds, gourmet menus, water bowls, pet walking services and much more.
If you are looking for an inclusive weekend with your pet, Loews are currently offering the Woofie Weekends package. The Woofie Weekends package includes mat, bowl, tags, waivering of the $25 pet cleaning fee, gourmet meal and memory foam pet mat. Going beyond the usual pet pampering services, if you travel to their St. Pete Beach location they have onsite pet massage therapists.

Trump Hotel Collection – Creature Comforts
The Trump Collection offers Creature Comforts at their properties in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Waikiki. Being a Trump pet means their gourmet dog treats, food and water bowls and dog walks are arranged through the concierge service for an extra fee. Other pet friendly Trump perks are toys and location maps of dog friendly highlights.
Hyatt Hotels & Suites – Jet Set with Your Pet
Ninety Hyatt affiliated hotels (including Park Hyatt, Andaz, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt and Grand Hyatt) offer the Jet-Set with Your Pet program. Participating hotels give guests a “Doggie Welcome Kit” including bed, bowl, and tags. They provide conveniently designated walkways with doggie bags for your precious pooch.
Pet Friendly Hotel Chains In The US
This post features hotel chains which have general pet friendly policies, with my personal comments on those I have stayed at. While it is possible any given hotel might go against the chain’s policy, you can be relatively confident the hotel chains listed below will allow pets.
Be sure to check with the individual hotel you are interested in to verify if they do indeed allow pets. And learn of any restrictions or extra costs. For example, it is common for hotels to charge extra per pet, limit the number or size of pets and require pets not be left alone in the suite. Most will accomadate only cats and dogs while some restrict cats yet permit dogs.
Seven Pet Friendly Hotel Chains
Drury Hotels are my favorite pet friendly choice and I have chosen them on multiple occasions. All Drury Hotels are pet friendly as long as state and local laws permit them. Their hotels and suites are quite comfortable and decent value. Drury offer benefits such as free cocktail hour and free breakfast, indoor pools, fitness centers and comfortable beds. Another great hotel for a family holiday.

Comfort Suites Hotels
Comfort Suites is part of the Choice Hotels Group and is universally known as a one of the best pet friendly hotel chains. Every single one I have stayed in advertised a pet friendly policy.
Choice Hotels own a number of other establishments and these often welcome pets. In particular, Sleep Inn seems to consistently allow pets, as does Rodeway Inn and the regular Comfort Inn.

Best Western – Pet Friendly Hotel Chains Leader
Best Western bill themselves as leader in pet friendly accommodation and outside of a few resort properties, I don’t think I have ever seen any Best Western which did not accomadate pets. This chain advertises as being dog friendly. However some locations restrict cats. Given that Best Western is an extremely large chain, knowing they are likely to accomadate your pet is good information for traveling. Best Western is often considered a budget hotel although they operate some premium properties with great suites.

Wingate Hotel Chain
Most Wingate hotels are pet friendly. If you like a bit more upscale chain, this is a good choice. I find the beds and rooms are super comfortable at Wingate hotels with great amenities. Which means it’s terrific for a family holiday. The hotels have indoor pools, free breakfast and much more. They are slightly pricier for easily accessible chains. Wyndham own the Super 8 hotel chain. This is more affordable and next on our list of pet friendly chains.

Super 8 Hotel Chain
Many Super 8 locations accept pets. One of my favorite pet friendly hotel experiences was at their hotel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The hotel included welcome kit for my dog with plastic food and water bowls, treats, poop bags and welcome letter. Nice touch and appreciated. This hotel chain is quite affordable, although I tend to stay at the slightly higher end hotels just to get a consistently more comfortable room and bed.
Details can be found on the Super 8 FAQ page.
Residence Inn Chain by Marriott
Most Residence Inn hotels accept pets. This hotel really focus on suites and the Residence Inn is great for your family vacation. However, the price is slightly higher. Marriott also welcome pets at some of their other hotels chains with Fairfield Inn being fairly consistent. They have a particularly good pets page on their website to search for pet friendly hotels across the entire Marriott Hotel & Resorts brand.

La Quinta Hotel Chain
La Quinta accept pets at most of their hotels nationwide, although you must check with the individual hotels for their full policy.
